Should you try? Definitely

Tuck Shop

Handmade pies with flaky crusts, stuffed with meat?  What’s not to like.  Tuck Shop has several locations throughout the city serving up these Australian meat pies and rolls.   The pie crust is buttery, flaky and just plain delicious.  There are eight variations, ranging from traditional ground beef to Guinness steak  to mac ‘n’ cheese.  The pies are maybe 4″ in diameter so a pie and half or two pies are good for lunch.  Each pie is $6 so go with a friend and share three pies.

Tuck Shop's Traditional Meat Pie

Traditional Meat Pie (ground beef): The ground beef is flavorful and if you’re not feeling too adventurous, go for this traditional meat pie.

BBQ Pork Pie (with coleslaw): The pork itself is tasty, and the pie is served with a large portion of coleslaw.

Thai Green Chook Curry Pie: The thai green curry chicken is an interesting idea, but it was a strange combo and not sure it worked.  The sauce was too soupy and had a strong acidic taste.  Try the other pies first.
